Adult Services offers an array of activities both in the facility and community. Activities and environments are designed to foster the development of skills and appropriate behavior, greater independence, community inclusion, relationship building, self-advocacy and informed choice. Adult Services often contributes to their communities through volunteer work. We know that volunteerism builds strong community connections, so we take every opportunity to volunteer from helping at the local animal shelter, thrift stores, nursing homes and food pantry’s. There’s so much to do, you’ll wish there were more hours in the day.
This program is designed to explore and identify an individual’s strength coupled with interests. Central Aroostook Association became the first agency in Aroostook County to have a certified employment specialist that navigates various stages of training with the individual. This goal is developing a plan for achieving competitive employment.
